Welcome!

This blog is intended to be a forum for the Montgomery County community to explore the challenges and opportunities associated with growth. It will provide a spectrum of community perspectives and guidance to the Planning Board about how to create great places to live and work in the future.

In Spring 2006, the Department of Planning convened two community sessions with local and national experts and community leaders to explore how we can best plan and manage growth in the future. This blog provides a channel to expand the community discussions to include all Montgomery County citizens.

To set the ball rolling, we have posted three questions below. Bloggers may wish to answer the questions or share opinions on other matters about future planning in Montgomery County.

If you prefer to read a Summary Report of the May 3 and May 17 community discussions or review the PowerPoint presentations that accompanied the community discussions prior to commenting on the questions, please click on Community Discussions.

To comment or read the comments of others, click the "Comment" link under each of the questions.  You don't need to list your name or e-mail address to leave a comment; that is optional.

Postings will not appear immediately. Postings that are off topic or offensive will be removed. You will be able to post comments on this blog until October 1, 2006. Once again, we welcome you to our blog, and thank you for participating.
